ALAN Bennett's hamstring injury isn't as bad as first feared.

The Dons defender limped out of Saturday's defeat at Exeter before the break, with Rhys Weston replacing him in the middle.

Skipper Bennett has also been struggling with calf and Achilles problems, but boss Neal Ardley revealed the centre-back still has a shot of being fit for this weekend's clash with Scunthorpe.

He said: “It's better than we first thought. We will give him during the week to see how he recovers.

“The worst case scenario is he will miss Saturday's game but be back the following week.”
