Northwood Town 149 all out Welwyn Garden City 150-6 (Town lost by four wickets)
A POOR batting display saw Northwood fall to a four-wicket defeat to Welwyn Garden City.
Brendan Heaney's half-century, plus a solid 32 by skipper Raj Ahluwalia, put on a 90-run first-wicket partnership.
And while Rohan Lee and Jamie Cotton chipped in with 19 each, the rest of the batsmen floundered as Town collapsed to just 149 all out.
The low score was never likely to be enough, although once again Dave Bushnell showed impressive form with the ball, taking 4-61, but City eased home with four wickets to spare.
Things were even worse for the second string, who crashed to a heavy defeat against Flamstead.
Alan Armitage and Shaun O'Neill produced a tremendous partnership of 112 and put Town in pole position with what looked like a useful 227-8 off 52 overs.
But Flamstead were in no mood to hang about, tearing apart Town's woeful bowling, to cruise to victory in just 36.5 overs.
