Pinner II (156ao) lost to West Harrow II (204-9) by 48 runs

WEST HARROW leapfrogged Pinner into the promotion places of the Middlesex Championship Division Two after a devastating bowling performance.

Kanu Rao top scored with 55 as the victors posted 204-9 off 55 overs, ably supported by Kunj (35). Pinner's bowling honours were shared between Mehfooz Khan (2-31), Waldo Oosthuizen (2-43) and Manoj Pereira (2-42).

In reply, Pinner started disastrously, falling to 47-5 with 20 overs remaining. However, a fight back from Andy Rayment (47) and Oosthuizen (31) put on 74 in 10 overs and a winning draw became a possibility.

But Rayment's dismissal sparked another collapse as Pinner lost the final four wickets for just 17 runs. Dushyant was West Harrow's best bowler with figures of 4-37.

Meanwhile, Gary Steadman's fiery spell of 6-45 helped Pinner's first team to a four wicket win over Southall.

He and Laurence Schreiber (2-15) bowled out the opposition for 98 in 43 overs.

However, Southall's spin attack reduced Pinner to 44-6 before Bhavik Thakkar steadied the innings and scored a patient 19 not out. Vishal Trivedi hit a well-struck 36 not out including three huge sixes to guide Pinner home.

On Sunday Pinner eased to victory over Berkhamsted, who batted first and were restricted to 148-9 off 40 overs with Joban Kapoor taking 5-30. In reply Pinner cruised to 150-2 off 27 overs with Mehfooz Khan (50*), Norman Williams (45) and Gaurav Thakur (44*) the chief rungetters.

The Pinner Development XI lost to Warners End by three wickets. Pinner hit 174-6 off 40 overs with Tony Lawson (30) and Indira Patel (41) contributing. In reply the visitors were made to work hard for the runs with U15 Colts Jack Tucker and Jonty Chang both taking a wicket and Dan Foskett taking three wickets.West Harrow's first XI enjoyed a convincing 91 run victory over Hendon Edgware on Saturday.

Batting first West Harrow scored 251 all out in 48 overs with 16-year-old Sangeet Patel top scoring with 77.Hendon Edgware were bowled out for 160 with Musa Haidar, Sanjay Trivedi and Yogi Mahida taking three wickets apiece.
