PIM Balkestein is on his way back to Brentford, according to his girlfriend's Facebook status.

The Dutch defender spent two spells on loan at Griffin Park last season, making 14 appearances, before being released by Ipswich Town in the summer.

Balkestein was on trial at German side Fortuna Dusseldorf but has been training with the Bees this week, and was in the stand for last night's pre-season friendly draw with Crystal Palace.

And his other half has revealed he is staying in TW8.

She said on Thursday: "Probably leaving Holland in the next 2 weeks, and then we'll be living in Brentford for the next three years."
