NATASHA Baker still feels there is room for improvement despite scooping three gold medals at the European Para-Dressage Championships in Denmark.

She completed the sensational hat-trick on the final day of the competition with victory in the freestyle event following successes in the individual and team sections of the championships.

The Uxbridge star, a defending double champion, and her horse Cabral scored 77.650 per cent to beat Germany’s Angelika Trabert by more than three percentage points to cap off a superb four days.

Having told the Gazette of her hopes of glory on three fronts last week, Baker was understandably delighted, but the London 2012 Paralympic hero is not about to rest on her laurels.

“Cabral has just got better each day, but he is still not as good as I know he can be, which is a little bit frustrating for me,” said Baker. “He is an amazing horse and I know that there is so much in there, but I haven’t been able to show it off.

“Hopefully, I will get the opportunity next year at the World Equestrian Games to do that. It has been a happy end to a very tricky week.”

Team GB ended up with a total of 11 medals, including seven golds and four silvers in Denmark.

Baker has transverse myelitis, an inflammation of a section across the spine, which she contracted when she was 14 months old. The nerve damage is permanent, leaving her with a severe weakness and the inability to feel her legs.
