BRENTFORD FC defender Karleigh Osborne says winning promotion has helped erase the memory of relegation. The youngster was part of the Bees side that finished bottom of League One in his first year as a pro in 2007.

He admits his confidence was shot to pieces following the drop into England's four tier of football, but finishing champions this time around has more than made up for it.

He said: "Confidence-wise, it was very hard for me when we got relegated. But the boys who have come in have helped me out, and I think we won it convincingly.

"It's helped erase the memory of relegation. This feeling is much better! I'm pleased for everyone involved with the club.

"It's the best moment of my career. It's not been easy. We've had our ups and downs, but every time we've had a down we've bounced back, and ended the year on a high."

Osborne is relishing the battles with the likes of Charlton and Southampton next year.

But he has warned Brentford's League One rivals they're not just there to make up the numbers.

"We're all good enough to play in that league," he said.

"There's not a massive difference in terms of quality. There's bigger clubs coming down, but we can deal with the pressure.

"Peterborough showed it can be done. Brentford are a club that's going places, and I can't wait until next season already.

"I've got unfinished business at that level. I was only there for a year when we were relegated, so I want to prove I can play at that level. I'm a much better player than I was then."
