Harrow Athletic Club's Eloise Newman and Marilyn Nwawulor took the honours with victories in the South of England indoor championships at Lea Valley recently, writes Tony Bush.

Newman took the senior high jump with a solid early season leap of 1.65m while Nwawulor was on sparkling form, winning the U17 long jump with a superb 5.54, taking silver in the U17 high jump with 1.75 and also running a fast time (26.01) in the 200m.

Angela Barrett made a good start to her indoor season, taking silver in both long jump and triple jump, the latter with a superb 12.52 mark.

Ian Smart made a solid start to his winter with fourth spot in the U20 pole vault, clearing 3.95, while there were also fast early season 60m sprint times for Othroy Marsh (6.90), Leroy Slue (6.92), Lewis Roualt (6.93) and Josh Wood (7.03).
