NORTHWOOD got off to a winning start in their first game of the new Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division Two season.
The Wood took on St Margaretsbury in their campaign opener and came away with a two-wicket victory to get off the mark in 2013.
It was also a good start for Northwood’s second as they beat the same opposition by 147 runs to get their season off to a flyer in Division Six.
The third-string couldn’t keep the sequence going though as they slumped to a 22-run defeat to Frogmore in Division 10.
Elsewhere, Northwood Town made a bad start to their Division Four journey as they suffered a nine-wicket defeat at the hands of Cheshunt.
Town’s seconds drew with Harpenden fourths and the third string enjoyed an excellent nine-wicket win over Datchworth.
