Northwood lost to Radlett 2nd XI by 10 wickets

DISMAL batting cost Northwood dear as they crashed to a heavy home defeat against Radlett seconds on Saturday.

The loss of two quick wickets set the tone for the day as Wood were skittled out for just 96. Only skipper Simon Noach (40no) and James Lewis (26) offered any resistance.

And Radlett reached their total with the loss of no wickets to seal an emphatic win. The reserves climbed up the table with victory over high-flying Hatfield Crusaders. Stuart Reeve scored 38, while captain Nick Nicholson hit 44 to finish on 150-8.

In reply, Reeve was soon into the Hatfield batsmen, but it was Ram Nandiraju who took four middle order wickets. Reeve finished with three and Shiva Nammikanti took two as Hatfield were bowled out for 126.

The third team slumped to a six-wicket defeat against Old Haberdashers seconds, while on Sunday Northwood went down to St John's Wood. Reeve scored 52 and Tom Brockton 79.

TOM Scally and Sachin Gulvady smashed half-centuries, but Eastcote still slumped to a six-wicket defeat to Hampstead on Saturday.

Scollay's 70 runs took him well clear of the field at the top of the league's batting table, while Gulvady also produced a classy innings of 51. But no other Eastcote batsmen managed much as the home side were dismissed for a lowly 162 in the 49th over. Hampstead cruised to that total with six wickets to spare in the 45th over.

Ickenham 148 all out Wycombe House 152-7 Ickenham lost by three wickets POOR batting was to blame as Ickenham slumped to a second succesive league defeat against Wycombe House.

Batting first, the visitors struggled to 59-6 before Indie Abhayawickrama (52) and Paul Sims (34) helped them post 148.

Despite some impressive bowling from Ickenham's spinners, the hosts eased home with three wickets to spare.

The seconds enjoyed a four-wicket win against Shepherd's Bush. After restricting the visitors to 224, Ickenham raced to the total, including two half-centuries.

The thirds made 172-9 to share the spoils with Shepherd's Bush, the fourths lost by 75 runs to Queensbury, and the fifths suffered a heavy eight-wicket defeat to Berkhampstead.
