Nick Clegg was among the spectators as Whitton Wanderers U13 Youth narrowly lost 4-3 on Sunday.

The deputy prime minister watched on from the sidelines as his son's Rock Lane team defeated the Wanderers by a one goal margin.

Man of the match Conner Johnson put in a sterling performance on his debut scoring twice while captain Kyron Bryan also found the net.

Clegg shook hands with the players and parents after the game and praised them for their spirit and hard work.

It was brighter day for the U11 Eagles as they scored 12 to go top of the league against Hampton Rangers.

A goal apiece for Williams Bakary, Sol Scott, Aaron Gangarh, Declan Hargreen as well as doubles from Leon Griffiths and Ciaran Grimes and four from Albie Burgess made up the dozen as the team secured their third straight win in a row.

The U10 Hawks also finished the day as victors after they claimed a 5-2 win at Ruislip Rangers.

Luca Brunelli struck four times while player of the match Sherif Neziri was also on target.

Man of the match James Roberts ensured the Wanderers U12s managed a 4-2 victory over G4G with a stylish double.

Joslin Gorleku, who had a brilliant game, and William Evans scored the remaining two goals.

The U12 Eagles squad battled back from 2-0 down to level their match at home to Twickenham Tigers with a quick fire double from Harry Witek.

But that was as good as it got as the visitors then scored twice to chalk up victory.

Meanwhile, Acton Ealing Whistlers U13s B completed an impressive come back to secure their place in the next round of the Middlesex County Cup.

They found themselves 3-0 down in the first 20 minutes before recovering to win 4-3 at home to Old Actonians.

The hosts got off to a poor start but goals from Joshua Deans and Dean Gimoro meant Whistlers went into half-time only trailing by one.

A strong second half performance saw Deans equalise before scoring the winner from 20 yards out in the final minute.

Man of the Match was awarded to both Danny Al-Khatib and Marco Raposo.

Reece Butler had a day to remember, as Explorers U9s won 6-0  at home against Old Windsor Tigers.

Butler scored all six goals while Hayden O'Toole was named man of the match.

Meanwhile, the U15s hit Westwood Wanderers for 20, not conceding in the process.

Cameron Baird scored five, Jake Sobalak netted four and Henry Harris grabbed three while Krishan Nagha and Byron Quinlan each scored a brace and Alex Hyseni, Matty Greeff William Wickes and Harry Tadman all found the target.

Elsewhere, Cowley Youth U11s beats Foxes Silver 9-0, thanks to a hat-trick from Harvey Brown alongside braces from Frankie Major, Hanit Tavares and Josh Worley.
