SHAUN Derry reckons the next eight games will make or break QPR's season.

Rangers go into tonight's trip to Aston Villa just two points and two places above the drop zone.

Mark Hughes' men face relegation rivals Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton in the next two months, before a tough run-in which sees them take on Spurs, Manchester City and Chelsea in three of their last four games.

“The next eight games are crucial,” said Derry. “We have got to produce more performances like we did against Wigan. We played really well and scored some fantastic goals.

“They are vital games for us. We have got to take points off the teams who are in and around us. It's difficult to escape the drop.

“But it's imperative we stay in this league - [relegation] isn't even in our thought process. With the greatest respect to the teams we are playing, our run-in sees us play the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City.”
