ALASSANE N’Diaye was last night on the verge of leaving Hayes and Yeading as new manager Tony O’Driscoll explores other options.

The 23-year-old was brought to the club by Nas Bashir in October 2012 after finishing the previous season in League Two with Barnet.

Bashir parted ways with the club last month and was replaced at the helm by O’Driscoll who shifted sideways from his role as director of football to take the hot seat.

And it looks as though N’Diaye could be following his old boss out the door at Kingfield after a disappointing spell at the Blue Square South club.

He was hauled off an hour into Saturday’s dreadful 3-1 defeat at bottom-of-the-table Truro and his performance in Cornwall was reflective of his time in the red shirt.

Much was expected of the French-Senegalese forward, who can also play in midfield, after arriving at the club with experience at Championship level with Crystal Palace.

But he has failed to fire during his time with United and the tall frontman has found the net just five times since Bashir signed him as a free agent five months ago.

N’Diaye came close to leaving the club in January and even had a trial at cash-strapped Portsmouth as the transfer window drew to a close.

United’s management team are deeply frustrated by the team’s disappointing form but require time to turn things around.

Last week saw James Beasant replaced with experienced former Staines Town keeper Louis Wells and Adam Everitt installed at left-back in place of Danny Braithwaite.

It is understood that one more member of the squad could yet be heading out the door later this week as Hayes and Yeading chiefs look to free up space for new arrivals. Barnet’s Jamal Lowe, who enjoyed a productive loan spell at Kingfield earlier this season, is coming to the end of a stint at Boreham Wood and United are keen to have him back. Other options from clubs at League Two level are also being considered as O’Driscoll looks to get the team’s season back on track.
