CLINTON Morrison reckons he is the new daddy at Brentford – and has already starting dishing out the fatherly advice.

The Sheffield Wednesday striker made his Bees debut as a late sub in Saturday's 2-0 win over Rochdale, less than two days after joining the club.

And the 32 year old former Republic of Ireland frontman is not just helping fill the departed Gary Alexander's boots on the pitch, but providing an experienced head off it too.

He joked: “Three straight losses, then I come in and we win – what can I say? But seriously, I don't know how this team has lost three in a row, I can see the potential here already.

“I've come in to provide a bit of experience and help the lads out. I spoke to all of them individually the dressing room before the game and told them they are all good players.”

Morrison also revealed he turned down approaches from up to nine other clubs to make the move on loan to Griffin Park.

He added: “The gaffer at Sheffield Wednesday brought me in but wanted me to stay and fight for my place. There were eight or nine clubs interested in me, and the approach from Brentford came in late on, but I liked the sound of it. My family are still in Sheffield, but I'm a London lad.

“I'd not trained at all really before Saturday, just did a half hour or so run on Friday, but I felt good.”
