GARY CAHILL and David Luiz have returned to training at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground this afternoon as they race to be fit for the Champions League final on Saturday.
The duo have been out of action since April, and with John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic suspended, Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo is short of options in defence.
Cahill has been missing since picking up a hamstring injury in the semi-final against Barcelona and David Luiz has been sidelined since the FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham.
But Di Matteo has revealed both will train with the rest of the squad this afternoon as they close in on a return in Munich.
“We are working towards that. Gary and David are going to try and train with us today,” he said.
However, the Chelsea chief was less positive about the fitness of Florent Malouda (pictured), who picked up an injury against Blackburn on Sunday.
He added: “Florent Malouda we still have to assess and it will be touch and go for him to be available for Saturday."
