STACY Long has backed Byron Harrison to rediscover his goalscoring touch and be a hit at AFC Wimbledon.

Harrison has struggled for form since his move from Stevenage in January for a club-record fee, scoring just two goals.

However, new signing Long, who followed his former team-mate to Kingsmeadow earlier this month, insists the striker will come good.

He said: “When Byron's at his best he's a handful and unplayable. He's got lots of potential to go higher up the leagues.

“He's just got to get his head down and work hard. He's scored goals in League One so I've no doubt he will do well at this level.”

Long admits he's champing at the bit to get going with his new club and is looking forward to linking up with Harrison and AFC Wimbledon's other frontmen.

He added: “I provided a few assists for Byron at Stevenage so hopefully I can do it again.”
