JUST when you thought life couldn’t get any better for Middlesex’s Steven Finn - lo and behold, he gets his first full England call up.

The 20-year-old fast bowler’s whirlwind winter saw him in South Africa with the England performance squad in December.

After that he was off to Abu Dhabi with The England Lions last month - not forgetting his selection for the MCC against Durham in the UAE.

But a phone call from England team director Andy Flower sent the Middlesex Academy graduate scrambling for his passport and whites once more.

His summons to Chittagong came after Ryan Sidebottom was ruled out of the remainder of the Bangladesh tour

A stunned Finn said of the news: "I am delighted to be given such a fantastic opportunity.

"To be called up to the full England side is a real honour for me.

"I am really excited to be joining up with the squad over in Bangladesh."

How much action Finn sees out in Asia depends on the assessment of other injuries to Graham Onions and Stuart Broad.

However, his promotion to the full squad has come ahead of several other quick bowlers on the recent Lions tour, including Chris Woakes and Sajid Mahmood.

Finn is realistic about his three weeks ahead.

He added: "Whether I get to play any matches over there remains to be seen. However, the opportunity alone to train with the squad and impress in front of the coaching team is a fantastic enough experience for me."
