Harrow Borough's players have dedicated Easter Monday's 3-1 win over derby rivals Wealdstone to manager David Howell after he missed the game to mourn the death of his mother, who passed away on Sunday.

Danny McGonigle, one of Borough's star performers on Monday, said: "The lads were desperate to get a result for the gaffer. Everyone has been aware of the boss’ situation for the last few weeks knowing he’s been going through a hard time and Ken (Charlery, assistant manager) let the lads know before the game what had happened and everyone was gutted.

“We are a tight knit unit anyway, and maybe subconsciously more than anything the news galvanized us a bit more and you could see that in the performance.”
