MARTIN Allen has refused to get into a war of words with Brentford boss Andy Scott .

Former Bees manager Allen was understood to be furious at comments made by Scott following Brentford’s win at Colchester last Tuesday.

Scott claimed Allen had been ‘on his shoulder’ for three years, and ‘been a bit naughty’ following a national newspaper article claiming Allen was interested in Scott’s job.

But Allen, who led Brentford two successive League One play-off and FA Cup fifth round campaigns in 2004-05 and 2005-06, would not be drawn.

He said: "I will not comment at this stage."

Meanwhile, Allen has been busy setting up an X-Factor style football talent search company with Blackpool striker DJ Campbell , who he set on the path to stardom after buying him from non-league Yeading while in charge at Brentford.

Seven months later, the former van driver was moving to Birmimgham City for a fee rising to £1million, and later played for Leicester before joining the Seasiders.

The company, Pro FC, is designed to give untapped talent a second chance in the game, just like Campbell received, and its website is due to go live on Monday.
