HILLINGDON swimmer Karley Mann will be going for gold in Finland tomorrow at the European Junior Championships.

The 15-year-old goes into the final of the 200m backstroke in the form of her life after a superb past month that included winning gold at the London Youth Games.

Mann stormed to victory in the 50m backstroke earlier this month and won team gold as part of the Hillingdon Borough team at Crystal Palace.

The Harefield Academy ace was one of 39 swimmers in the GB team and she will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Sophie Smith, who clinched the first gold medal for her team in the 400m individual medley yesterday.

“It is a fantastic feeling representing Great Britain,” she said “I need to be at my best when I face the best that Europe has to offer.”
