CHARLIE MacDonald has backed Andy Scott's plans to bring another striker to Brentford .

Bees boss Scott is stepping up his search to boost his forward line ahead of a gruelling schedule of nine games in the next month.

And MacDonald, joint leading scorer at Griffin Park with 10 goals, relishes the extra competition.

"Since I have been at the club there has always been competition for places," he said.

"There's normally four strikers vying for two positions, and sometimes even just one if we only play with the lone frontman.

"We have lost Rhys [Murphy] and John Akinde , so we're probably a little bit light going into a busy schedule."
