HAYES and Yeading have received a survival boost with Luton Town's decision not to sign midfielder Jamie Hand.

The 27-year-old midfielder was hoping that the Hatters would stump up the cash to sign him during the January transfer window as he is still contracted to Hayes and Yeading for the rest of the season.

However, Luton Town have decided not to take up an option to keep Hand after his successful three-month loan spell earlier this season.

Hand is unavailable for tomorrow's trip to Kidderminster Harriers though as he is serving the second of a two-match ban for picking up his 10th booking of the season during Hayes' 3-1 defeat to Fleetwood before Christmas.

Meanwhile, Hereford United have, as expected, completed the permanent signing of striker Nathan Elder, who spent a three-month loan spell with the League Two club after signing for Hayes and Yeading in the summer.
