TREVOR Carson admits he took a gamble joining Brentford on loan.
The Sunderland keeper cut short a spell at League Two Lincoln to move to Griffin Park for the rest of the campaign.
However, the 23-year-old traded a place in the Imps first team for a place on the Bees bench at the weekend.
But the Northern Irishman admits the lure of playing at Wembley and the chance to test himself a division above turned his head.
He said: "I went back to train with Sunderland for a couple of days and was ready to head down to Lincoln, then heard Brentford were interested.
"When I saw their games coming up I wanted to come down. Of course, the chance of playing at Wembley was a massive lure.
"Every player dreams of playing there, but it's going to be hard for the manager to drop Simon [Moore] the way he's playing.
"I took a gamble, and some people will be saying I was silly for coming as I'm not guaranteed to play. That's football."
