Wembley 237-7 Wycombe House 160-9 Losing draw for Wycombe House

A HEROIC last-wicket stand saved Wycombe House from defeat away to Wembley on Saturday.

Zahid Ahmed and Sohail Elahi batted out the final 12 overs to earn the visitors a solitary point for the losing draw, in a game which swung one way then the other throughout the day. Ahmed began the day well with the ball and along with Salman Choudhry reduced the hosts to 40-4 after putting them into bat.

However, Wembley found the short boundary regularly after that to recover to 237-7.

House began the run chase tentatively and were soon a couple of wickets down, butMohsin Tirmize (61) and Mohsin Shah (40) fought back well to briefly leave their side entertaining hopes of a late victory dart. However, a flurry of wickets followed, leaving Ahmed and Elahi hanging on at the death.
