HILLINGDON Triathletes were among the leading contenders at two events held in Weymouth.

Thomas Korff came in an excellent ninth in the Weymouth Classic over the Olympic requirement of 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.

Oliver Jones was 15th, Stuart Reilly 45th, Melissa Arkinstall 51st and the eighth woman and David Knight was 56th.

In the Weymouth Jumbled Triathlon which involved an 800m swim, 6km run and 30km cycle, John Levison was runner-up in 1hr 29mins 45secs.

Colette O'Neill won the women's event in 1.34.11, sixth overall, while John Laird was 22nd in 1.46.16 and Andrew Taube was 24th in 1.48.22.

Closer to home a week later Levi-son got on his bike to finish 65th in the Bushey Park Time Trial in 20.22, ahead of Arkinstall (20.26), O'Neill (21.06), Taube (21.27), Jenny Shorrocks (22.21) and Emma Bayliss (24.28). Steve Hyett was second overall and top veteran in the Chiltern Aquathlon with a time of 26.52 wih clubmate Ella Fisher second in the women's event in 28.59.

Numerous club members recorded personal best times in the final West London Combine 25 Mile Time Trial of the season. Dan White recorded 59.34, Ian Gould managed 61.41, Michelle Ford clocked 68.33 and Ian Leslie completed the Great Missenden course in 73.03.

Riding as a two-up team Chris Pin-nell and Simon Claridge recorded 62.29, Daniel Thompson and Dave Newman managed 67.26 and Danny Attias and Mike Kelly clocked 80.32.
