DALE YOUTH Club believe they've got the next big thing after Dionne Jumati knocked his opponent out in less than a round on Saturday - and this on Jumati's debut.

The 19-year-old hammered the Army's Andy Tierman to the canvas twice in their curtailed U81kg clash to get heaped with praise from Mickey Delaney.

The coach at the North Kensington club is the man who oversaw the careers of both Olympic champion James DeGale and ABA double winner Georgie Groves.

And so any accolade from an expert with a 35-year career in the corners of the great and good, doesn't come that easy.

Delaney said: "Dionne's only been with us six months, but he's got one hell of a dig on him."

There were other debut wins for Dale fighters Willie McDermott (69kg), Shane Westlake (69kg) and Daz Sidiqzki (69kg). Only a close defeat for Tommy Teare (64kg) marred the charity night event against police and army teams at the Wellington Barracks in Chelsea.
