SWIMMING: Bexleyheath's Crook Log pool proved fertile territory for Ealing Swimming Club's senior swimmers when they competed with great distinction in the London Winter Championships.

The gala was run short course in open and U16s categories and Ealing were the dominant club throughout.

Overall, the swimmers notched up 19 gold medals, with Lauren Turner accounting for five.

She won the open 100m backstroke and the junior 100m and 200m backstroke and 100m and 200m freestyle.

Tariq Miller swam exceptionally well, producing a big personal best time in the open 200m medley, which he won along with the open 200m freestyle and open and junior 100m breaststroke.

Jenna Turner produced a great performance in the 100m butterfly, which she won together with the open 100m and 200m freestyle.

Charlie Turner dominated the freestyle sprint events, winning both the 50m and 100m races while Gina Heyn took the open 50m freestyle for the girls.

In the relay events, Ealing made a clean sweep winning them all. For the girls, Jenna Turner, Lauren Turner, Naima Camara and Gina Heyn won the 4x100m medley and the 4x100m freestyle, where Polly Kemp-King replaced Camara.

In the men's races, the teams were Kyle and Connor Barrett, Tariq Miller and Joao Matias in the medley and Melako Coker, Charlie Turner, Miller and Matias in the freestyle.

Of the 11 silver medals won, Heyn took four (open 400m medley, 100m and 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle).

Other silver medals were won by Joao Matias (100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly), Lauren Turner (open 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle), Tariq Miller (open 200m backstroke and junior 200m medley), Jenna Turner (open 50m freestyle), Melako

Coker (junior 100m breaststroke) and Polly Kemp-King (junior 100m freestyle).

Jenna Turner also picked up the bronze in the open 100m backstroke as did Kemp-King in the junior 200m freestyle and Kyle Barrett in the 100m backstroke.

In addition to the medals, there were finals places recorded by Lauren Turner and Connor Barrett (both in three events), Laura Curran, Hannah Cierebiej-Jeffery, Polly KempKing (all in two events), Tariq Miller, Joao Matias and Kyle Barrett.
