Ickenham's Breakspear School lifted the Coopers Cup at Ruislip Gardens Primary School, writes Sean Davies.

The boys from Bushey Road brushed aside Hillside School from Northwood in the final and a further 16 schools to capture the crown.

Primary sporting development director Chris Hibbs, who organised the event and whose company delivers PE and sport programmes in many of the primary schools involved, said: “It was fantastic to see 180 children competing against each other, developing their football skills, but most importantly having fun.

“We are already looking forward to providing more competitive sporting opportunities for children in Hillingdon.”

After the initial group stages, the semi-finals resulted in Hillside beating Field End and Breakspear winning against Whiteheath, before Breakspear were crowned champions by beating Hillside 3-0 with goals from Taylor Foran and Jack Muir.

Both finalists qualify for the Hillingdon borough finals in March, with the eventual winners going to the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace.

David Sargent, a partner at tournament sponsors Coopers, said: “We are very excited to be associated with such a fantastic tournament within the local community and hope this can be a platform to encourage healthy competition.”

Elsewhere, Denham Ladies U14s recorded their biggest win of the season winning 7-2 away at Croydon.

The girls dominated from the start with Kayleigh Currivan netting a hat-trick, while Holly Symons chipped in with a brace and Julia Thurauf also got on the scoresheet.

The U13s also won in impressive fashion, beating Bury Rangers 4-0 with Holly Symons and Alisha Bajwa both scoring braces and the side keeping their first clean sheet of 2015.

There was no clean sweep of victories for the club though as the U11s side lost at home to Watford Hornets.
