NEAL Ardley insists Chris Hussey has nothing to prove when he returns to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

The Burton Albion defender was shown the door by the Dons in the summer after a short second spell at Kingsmeadow.

Hussey made 19 appearances following his switch from Coventry City in January, but failed to hit the same heights of his first stint in KT1.

But Ardley says there's no bad feeling over the 24-year-old's departure.

He said: “When he was at Wimbledon before he was a marauding left-back, but I asked him to do a different job and play more narrow.

“He worked hard, even though I asked him to do things that didn't play to his strengths.

“I never had a problem with him.

“He wasn't palmed off. We said at the moment we couldn't afford him, but might re-visit it.

“In the meantime he got fixed up with Burton. He's a good player with fantastic quality.”
