Hounslow's Alysia Ekpiken becomes British youth champion as Ealing's Kian Panjavi qualifies for Commonwealth Youth Games

Hounslow’s Alysia Ekpiken became the British youth champion in the 69+ category after triumphing in Glasgow.

The Stars for the Future athlete took gold and enjoyed a personal best of 73kg in the clean and jerk category.

She agonisingly missed out on capping off her triumph with a British record for U17s in the snatch but was unable to lift 67kg.

Elsewhere, Ealing’s Kian Panjavi successfully lifted 98kg (snatch) and 122kg (clean and jerk) to qualify for the European youth and Commonwealth Youth Games.
