After an absence of five years, British Airways men’s first team won promotion to the MBBO Regional League.

Although they missed out on top spot by two points, the team only lost four games and held an impressive defensive record.

They have shown impressive form and motivation throughout the season and encompass a small squad, which boasts experienced players with a backbone of talented youth, with both enjoying the competitive and social side to the sport.

Club captain Amit Sehmi said: “We had a small squad but massive motivation.

“What we worked on on the training pitch we put into use on match days.

“Getting promoted is a huge achievement for the team and the club. There was, of course, some outstanding individual contributions throughout the season, but what made the promotion possible was our collective effort.”

The club has already started to prepare for the new season.

Chairman Solly Solanki and his officials are already working behind the scenes on establishing the right infrastructure for the club’s first appearance in the higher league for five years. British Airways is based out of what was the Concorde Club, in Heston, and is now managed by Imperial College.

The club are welcoming all new members of all levels to compliment the ethos and ambitions of the club.
