IT WAS a mixed day for Eastcote Hockey Club on Saturday after the men's first team remained on course for a play-off spot, but the ladies suffered relegation from South League Division Two.

The men thumped Wallingford 5-1, leaving the Boars needing to win their final league game at Slough on April 10, while hoping

Maidenhead lose their last two in order to sneak a play-off spot.

Alex Stobbart and Chris Sleeman scored in quick succession before Adam Mulholland drag-flicked a short corner into the roof of the net before half-time. David Cooper's brace made it 5-0 before Wallingford pulled one back.

The Ladies first team, however, suffered the pain of relegation along with Saturday's rivals Sunbury, who won 3-1.

The Ladies fourth team were promoted as runners-up from their division after a 1-1 draw with league leaders H&W. The U14s also drew 1-1 with Wycombe thanks to

Seren Adlem's goal. The men's seconds crushed Wokingham 6-2 to finish third in the MBBO league.

Richard Campion scored a late winner for the thirds' against Henley; James Jackson and Graham Dale scored in the fourths' 2-0 win at City of Oxford; the fifths won promotion with an 8-0 romp at Harrow.
