Hillingdon’s Danielle Daley will compete against the best U16s tennis players in the country.

Daley will step up to Grade 1 Nationals after triumph at Grade 2 last month.

She won 11 matches, including pre-qualifying, qualifying and the main draw at Grade 2 without dropping a set.

After the tournament Daley said: “This has been the biggest win of my tennis career due to the fact this was only my third time competing at national level. It was in the girls’ 16s and I don’t move to that age group until April.”

The 14-year-old’s victories have given her a springboard for success and she has set her hopes high.

The starlet added: “My goal is to be a professional. I want to be a professional and make it onto the WTA Tour. But before that, I need to focus on developing my game.”

Proud mum Jennifer Daley was full of praise, adding:“This is usually the time girls start to fall away from competitive sports but now Danielle has given herself a springboard to perform at a higher level – nationally, she is in the top 10. I hope this is just the beginning for her.”
