ZAMARETTO LEAGUE AFC Hayes 4 North Leigh 6

A SECOND-half collapse cost the hosts as they surrended a two-goal lead to lose to North Leigh on Saturday.

A crash on the M40 meant the visitors arrived late, but it was AFC Hayes who crashed to defeat.

However, they went on 14 minutes when Ben Hayden headed home from a corner.

North Leigh hit back to level, but Danilson Vicente and Craig Tompkins both squandered opportunities to restore Hayes' lead.

The pair made amends before the break with two goals in the final three minutes of the half, Tompkins crashing the ball in from the edge of the box and Vicente beating the offside trap to put them 3-1 up.

However, all their hard work went up in smoke after the interval as the visitors raced into a 6-3 lead.

And despite Darren Butler's late goal, it couldn't stop them slumping to a disappointing defeat.
