THE BUMPER all-ticket crowd expected for Saturday's visit of big guns Luton will inspire Hayes & Yeading to repeat their New Year's Day heroics against AFC Wimbledon, according to Ram Marwa.

United face a testing month with games home and away against both Luton and leaders Oxford, but Marwa reckons the daunting fixture list will give Garry Haylock's men a lift.

"These games are why we all want play in this league and these are the games we tend to do well in," said the midfielder, who scored the winner against the Dons on January 1.

"Sometimes against lower league teams we don't seem up for it, but against these teams, I know we will give them a run for their money. They will need to have good quality to beat us.

"We should take confidence from our display against Mansfield last Saturday, even if we dropped points in the end. They are also a big club and we almost beat them."

Only 427 turned up for the game against Mansfield and Marwa has fond memories of when 1,800 crammed into Church Road for that clash with the Dons.

"I love playing in front of big crowds and can't wait to see our ground packed this week, even if many of them will be away fans," he said.

"I thought we would get better crowds but we've had the same as last season in many games, so I really enjoy it when there are more.

"When we had a really good turnout against AFC Wimbledon. It inspired us and we won 1-0. I think we can do the same again this week."

Marwa added: "I feel we are more organised now than we were at the start of the season. We have more know-how and are cutting out a lot of silly mistakes.

"We've worked hard on the defensive side of our game in the last couple of weeks. A few more clean sheets will bring us wins because we always fancy our chances of scoring."
