HAYES & Yeading’s worrying form continued as they conceded a last-gasp winner at Eastbourne Borough last night.

United have now won just two of their last eight Blue Square South fixtures and went down 2-1 to an Eastbourne side who had not won at Priory Lane since November.

Hayes and Yeading started strongly and had the chance to open the scoring on seven minutes from penalty spot as Alex Wynter felled Tom Collins.

John Goddard stepped up to take the spot-kick but Eastbourne goalkeeper Danny Potter got down well to his left to keep out the midfielder’s effort.

That save handed the hosts a major boost and they took advantage on 16 minutes when Gary Hart’s cross was met by Simon Johnson.

Trailing at half-time, United made a promising start to the second period.

Luke Williams missed an early chance and minutes later Potter was the hero again as he denied Collins after the Stockport loanee diverted a Ben Gladwin (pictured) cross goalwards.

Eastbourne recovered well, however the introduction of Kudus Oyenuga swung the game in Hayes & Yeading’s favour.

The lively substitute did well to shake off his marker and fire home a stinging low drive to level things up as the match entered the final 10 minutes.

And it looked like the visitors would earn a point until Darren Lok collected the ball in the last minute, cut inside a couple of defender and blasted beyond Louis Wells for the winner.
