HAYES & Yeading are searching for a new goalkeeper after Louis Wells returned to Dartford this week, writes Matt Lewis.
Wells (pictured) was set to return to the Blue Square Premier outfit on Sunday following the expiry of his loan spell at Kingfield.
However, the Darts have recalled the shot-stopper early to fill the void left by Fulham youngster Marcus Bettinelli, who was due back at Craven Cottage on Monday.
Former Charlton Athletic starlet Brandon Hall is still on the books at United and has made nearly 20 appearances since joining the club in September 2012.
Hall, who turns 20 today (Wednesday), is expected to take Wells’ place between the sticks at Billericay Town this weekend.
But the keeper is understood to be unavailable for the Easter Monday visit of Havant & Waterlooville, leaving United scrambling around for a replacement.
Veteran Delroy Preddie will not come out of retirement for the match and O’Driscoll is on the lookout for someone to fill the gloves before the March 31 registration deadline.
Meanwhile, Hayes & Yeading pulled the plug on a move for a new striker on Sunday night after being priced out of a move for an unnamed forward.
However, the versatile Danny Wishart and Julian Owusu are both fully fit and could feature up front over the Easter weekend.
Josh Ekim has missed the last two games but remains in the club’s plans and is expected to be in the squad.
