GARRY Haylock has drawn up a wish-list of 15 players as he bids to avoid the brick walls of last summer.

The Hayes & Yeading boss had to defer new recruits until he was victorious in the Conference South play-offs almost a year ago, and by then, all his targets had promised themselves elsewhere.

In fact, Haylock saw two matches on Saturday: the highly forgettable 0-0 draw by his own team at Grays, and a more promising youth match in the morning involving one of the 15 in his notebook.

He said: "We are in a much better position than we were this time last year.

"Those that might have been interested in us last year didn’t want to wait that three or four weeks extra before they knew which division we’d be in.

"I’m up to 15 on my list so far, so if someone doesn’t want to come, then I’ll move on to the next one."
