Ashley McKenzie is favourite to take the U60kgs crown in Glasgow after a recent fifth in the European Championships to go with bronze in the same competition last year. The Maida Vale Olympian is also the former European U23 champion.

Jan Gosiewki was born in Hounslow, and the student studying hip replacement techniques at Bath University, hopes to throw a few opponents over his in the U73kgs division after coming second at the European Open last year. His previous best was bronze at the Warsaw European Open. In 2013, Gosiewki defended his title as British champion and went to his first senior European and World Championships.

Nekoda Davis from Ealing, like McKenzie won 2013 European Championships bronze at U21 level in 57kgs. She is a self-taught hairdresser, so if the other two need a trim as they while away the hours in Glasgow, Davis can cut it with the best.
