HARROW boss David Howell is set to shake up his squad in a bid to reignite their playoff dreams.

Howell revealed he is on the lookout for three players - a defender, midfielder and a forward - for a team which has suffered three successive defeats after being one of the form horses of the division in the last three months.

Just four weeks ago Borough thrashed title chasers Bury Town 5-2 on their own turf and followed up with a 6-0 drubbing of Horsham.

Since then the departure of Troy Hewitt to QPR and a spate of injuries and suspensions to key players has been followed by three successive defeats in an alarming dip in form.

Howell is understandably worried.

He said: "We are looking a shell of the side that performed so well not long ago. I have concerns over our defence at the moment. We have had Danny Leech and Ryan Watts out with injury and Kwasi Frempong struggling with a knock.

"Chris King has been suspended and Tobi Jinadu’s confidence isn’t the best since his release from Kingstonian and it is showing in our performances."

Boro’s latest setback came at the hands of bitter rivals Wealdstone but Howell believes his side’s task was made harder by the performance of the referee Mr Tweed, who awarded two penalties against his men, the second resulting in dismissal for Leech.

He added: "The sending-off was a joke; the referee had been threatening to give my players an early shower and he was true to his word."
