THE destiny of Harrow Borough’s season will hinge on key upcoming games against their fellow strugglers, according to Danny Leech.

Borough are still casting one eye on the relegation zone ahead of Saturday’s clash with Enfield Town, following defeat to Wealdstone on Bank Holiday Monday.

While disappointed with his team’s showing against Stones, Leech (pictured) says it is not defeats to title contenders which will determine their fate, but games against the likes of Hastings and Lewes.

Leech said: “We need to do better against teams in and around us, that’s the way to pull clear. I can’t put my finger on why we have done badly against struggling sides, maybe there is more pressure as more is expected of us.

“It has happened twice that we’ve gone to the bottom club and lost, but Enfield are not bottom, they are in and around us, so we have got to go out and get the three points.”

Borough’s form against the strugglers is in contrast to a win over leaders Whitehawk and play-off contenders Bury, as well as a win at Hendon when they were on a long unbeaten run.

Leech added: “Good sides don’t play well but still win or pick up points. We need to grind out some points by digging in when we are having a bad game and get that 1-1 or whatever it might be.”
