Harrow Borough 3 Margate 2

RYAN Watts and Tobi Jinadu opened their goalscoring accounts as Harrow overhauled a two goal deficit to spare their blushes against struggling Margate.

Goals from Kenny Pratt and Luke Wheatley put the Gate in control at the break despite the
dismissal of Kieron Morris.

However, an early second half goal from Watts gave Harrow belief and it was soon 2-2 when Gary Noel converted his third goal in two games. The hosts maintained the pressure and got the winner after a defensive mix up saw the visitors put though their own net yet Jinadu, who had a say in the build up, will be claiming it – and he is not the sort of size to be told any differently.

“We conceded the first goal which is the first time we've done that for a while,” said Borough manager David Howell. “They were quite happy to defend their lead and we just didn't play in the first half.
“We really took the game to them in the second half and I told the boys at half time that if we're going to lose, make sure the opposition at least work for it.

“We've strung a decent run together and are finishing the season strongly but if we had picked up a few more points earlier in the season it might have been a different picture.”

“I'm very pleased with the way we're playing and long may it continue,” he added. “We've now got four league games in seven days and I've got the likes of Andray (Baptiste, goalkeeper) and Dewayne (Clarke, striker) returning to the squad.”

Jonathan Constant, back in the side at the expense of on-loan Dorian Smith, conceded possession in the third minute and Pratt blasted the ball past Richard Wilmot, who should have done better.
Rattled by that early setback Harrow were all over the place and were indebted to Jinadu for a headed goal-line clearance minutes later.

They finally settled after 15 minutes and should have been back on level terms only for Constant and Noel to spurn chances.

Margate threatened again when a free-kick was swung in and, with the Borough defence statuesque, Haverson’s header hit the foot of the post.

After 26 minutes Morris, who had already been booked for dissent, then hacked down Noel, giving the referee no choice but to give him his marching orders.

However, Harrow failed to make the most of their numerical advantage and were soon two nil down when Wheatley bundled in from a free kick four minutes into stoppage time.

Harrow needed an early goal in the second half, and with Kurt Morlese on in place of Fenton, they obliged after 48 minutes. Constant’s free-kick was bent round the Margate wall and crashed off Mullin’s left-hand post. The ball rebounded across goal and Watts was quickest to react.

Three minutes later, Harrow drew level. A great Lee Hall cross from the right saw Noel soar to glance the ball into the goal, the ball taking a slight deflection off a Margate defender on the way.

Harrow cranked up the pressure but time and again they wasted chances as anxiety crept in.

However, the winner arrived in the 70th minute courtesy of another Constant corner. Jinadu rose and headed goal-wards and goalkeeper Pat Mullin inexplicably let the ball slip through his grasp before hoofing the ball onto the head of Haverson, who watched in horror as the ball ballooned into the net.

Harrow finished strongly with James Fraser, Hall and Constant all denied by Mullin.
