BOSS Mark Harper has used the painful memory of Arlesey Town to warn his Hampton & Richmond players of another potential banana skin tomorrow.

Harper's side host Canvey Island, who play a division below them in the Ryman Premier, in the FA Trophy at Beveree.

This comes just few months after Hampton were knocked out of the FA Cup 6-2 by a team from the division below, Southern Premier side Arlesey Town.

Harper said: “I've had Canvey Island watched twice, and we won't be taking them lightly. We have had a lot of changes in personnel since that Arlesey game, but the memory is still raw enough that we will be very wary of another potential banana skin.”

Right-back Lewis Ferrell should be available for the tie, despite his sending off in Tuesday's 2-1 win at Bromley, but Harper will be missing up to four other regulars.

He added: “We are already missing James Simmonds, and possibly Karle Andrews, with groin strains, while John O'Donnell and Joel Ledgister are both cup-tied, so it will mean a reshuffle.”
