ROB Gilmour rolled back the years to beat the hour mark and win the Hounslow & District Wheelers Midsummer 25 Mile Time Trial on Sunday.

He clocked 59mins 9secs on the West of Windsor course on the 25th anniversary of his first sub one-hour 25-miler, a 57.48 effort in 1984 on the faster North Road course. Rising star David Brown was next home in 60.39.

Paul Holdsworth, experimenting with a basic fixed-wheel bike, was nine seconds back, while Jo Wells was the first lady, ninth in 1hr 9mins 28secs. Relative newcomer Patsy Howe scooped the handicap prize.
