HAMPTON & Richmond Borough boss Mark Harper could be left seriously short of options up front for tomorrow's (Tuesday night) trip to his former club, Sutton United.

Dave Tarpey will be suspended for the game, leaving only Charlie Moone before Harper has to raid his reserves, as youngster Dan Thompson is on the verge of joining Championship side Portsmouth.

Ironically, Joel Ledgister, who had such an impressive loan spell at Hampton in December, could be wearing the yellow and brown of Sutton.

Harper said: “Tarps has been on fire lately, and we will miss him against Sutton. I have spoken to Sutton a few times about Joel, and there may be a chance of getting him back if he's not in their plans, but he is at the moment.

“We've had a bit of a hole up front since he went back, but we don't have the sort of money where we can just go and buy him off Sutton. He's a great lad with an excellent attitude and work rate – I just hope he doesn't play against us.

"It will be an emotional game for me as I won the Isthmian League with Sutton when I was a player, and I still have a lot of friends there - but we'll be going all out to win."
