MARK Harper admits he would ideally liked to have kept all three players he transfer-listed last week.

The Hampton & Richmond Borough boss put Jacob Erskine, Charlie Moone (pictured) and Stuart Duff up for transfer after the Beavers were dumped out of the FA Cup by Arlesey.

And Hampton could even come up against Erskine tomorrow, when fellow Blue Square South strugglers Boreham Wood visit Beveree.

Harper said: “We haven't seen Jacob since he was transfer-listed, but we think he is at Boreham Wood, so Saturday could be interesting.

“Stuart is very raw and needs to get out on loan to get some experience, while Charlie has that experience but just needs to work a bit harder, which he has agreed with.

“In an ideal world, I would like to have kept all three. But things were tight enough as it is, and getting knocked out of the FA Cup cut off another revenue stream, so I have to make changes.”

Hampton went down 1-0 at Tonbridge Angels last Saturday, to a last-minute penalty for a push by Paul Johnson, whose red card will lead to a three-game ban.

Harper added: “We were unlucky to lose, but it was the reaction I wanted after the cup defeat. The boys worked hard and showed they cared.

“With Johnno out for three games, depending on who we're playing, we can stick Dave Tarpey in there and have an attacking midfield, or put someone more defensive in.”
