Hounslow could yet have its very own gymnastics star at this summer's Beijing Olympics.
Rebecca Wing, who trains at Heathrow Gymnastics Club in Green Lane, Hounslow, is a hot prospect for selection for the GB team following good showing at the British Team Championships.
She came third overall in the individual category, helping Heathrow to bronze overall, before also coming third in a national trial at the National Sports Centre in Shropshire.
Wing, who is coached by Vince and Michelle Walduck and Natalia Ilienko-Jarvis, also performed strongly in last weekend's GB v Romania international in Ipswich.
The GB team for Beijing will be selected in a fortnight's time.
Meanwhile, more than 800 children from Hounslow and beyond last week took part in Heathrow's Club Championships.
Between rounds, Heathrow Squad One gymnasts, who include junior and senior GB internationals, kept the audience entertained with some stunning floor routines.
