WILL Grigg insists sentiment will go 'out of the window' when Brentford play Walsall tomorrow.

The striker faces his former team-mates for the first time since quitting the Bescot for Griffin Park earlier in the summer.

Grigg came through the Saddlers ranks and, having progressed to the first team, scored 28 goals in 109 games for the club.

The Northern Ireland international’s impressive form last season caught the eye of Bees boss Uwe Rosler , paving the way for a switch to west London after Grigg rejected a new deal at Walsall.

He admits he's indebted to the West Midlanders for providing him with his professional break, but plans to shoot them down when they visit TW8.

“I owe a lot to Walsall,” he said, “especially the manager [Dean Smith] and his assistant Richard O’Kelly.

“They were massive for me. The gaffer gave me the number nine shirt and has done a lot for my career. I have a lot of respect for them.

“But I’m a Brentford player now and as soon as you step over that white line, sentiment goes out of the window.

“It will be weird playing against friends and former colleagues but it’s just one of those things. It’s just another game for me.

“It won’t give me any extra motivation playing them. I’ll be trying my best to score and to get us the three points.

“If I score I will celebrate because I’ll be happy. There’s no hard feelings.”
