WILL Grigg grabbed a brace on his home debut as Brentford recorded an impressive victory over Sheffield United.
The summer arrival from Walsall struck twice in the second half after Neill Collins had cancelled out Adam Forshaw's opener.
Grigg missed the chance to claim a hat-trick when George Long saved his late penalty.
Uwe Rosler made 11 changes from the side that beat Dagenham in midweek, with two-goal hero Farid El Alagui on the bench.
The Bees started brightly, with Forshaw firing over and Clayton Donaldson having an effort deflected just wide.
Brentford continued to make most of the running and eventually took the lead 10 minutes before the break.
Forshaw picked up the ball midway through the Blades half, driving forward before curling an unstoppable effort into the top right-hand corner.
The Bees midfielder almost added a second on the stroke of half-time, but Long got down well to deny him.
Brentford started the second period as they ended the first, pinning the visitors back.
And they almost doubled their advantage when Shaleum Logan teed-up Conor McAleny, but Long pushed his effort away.
However, United levelled totally against the run of play on 56 minutes.
Stephen McGinn whipped in a corner from the left and Collins rose totally unmarked to nod the ball home from inside the six-yard box.
But Brentford were back in front five minutes later. George Saville cut the ball back from the byline and Grigg picked his spot to put the hosts 2-1 up.
Saville almost gave the Bees some breathing space shortly after, only to be denied by Long.
Grigg made the points safe 15 minutes from time when he slotted the ball into an empty net from four yards after Long had parried Forshaw's effort.
The Brentford striker had the chance to claim the matchball when he was tripped in the box by Harry Maguire.
However, Long guessed the right way to deny the former Walsall frontman a deserved hat-trick.
