Hayes 209 all out Royal Ascot 160 Hayes won by 49 runs

SIMON Green helped Hayes to victory against Royal Ascot on Saturday, writes Liam Osborne.

The visitors got off to a disastrous start , and were were reduced to a mere 44-3.

However, Andy Pederson and Green turned things around for Hayes, putting together a 91-run partnership.

Green himself reached his half-century with a knock of 54 before being dismissed as Hayes finished on 209 all out.

Ascot's openers were unable to put together a decent stand at the crease early on, before Hayes' medium bowler Claudious Wayland blitzed through the order, taking three wickets for just nine runs.

Spin-bowler Aman Singh took the remaining two wickets and secured victory in just 43 overs to take maximum points.

However, Hayes' second string couldn't repeat the feat as they crashed to defeat against Ascot's reserves, losing by 65 runs.
