MIDDLESEX PREMIER CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION THREE

Friends United 200 all out

Lohana 137 all out

Friends United won by 63 runs

JALPESH Vijay turned in a top display with bat and ball as Friends United closed the gap on the Division Three leaders with a comprehensive victory over Lohana.

Vijay (pictured) came to the crease with his side up against it, particularly after the loss of the in form Ramesh Magan, but his brilliant century which included 16 fours and three huge sixes helped to stabilise the home side’s innings.

Vijay was out soon after making three figures but his performance carried his team to a total of 200 all out from just 34.1 overs.

Mehul Gokani scored 70 as the Lohana response started well but the game turned on its head with a superb bit of fielding by Magan and that opened up the floodgates.

Vijay then transferred his success from bat to ball as he claimed three quick wickets to stall Lohana’s high scoring rate and after Gokani fell to Yogesh Nagpal the visitors soon collapsed to 137 all out.
